Bison T-REX Americana Manual Portable Basketball System - Glass Backboard, 8′ Safe Play Area, Indoor

Bison provides a T-Rex portable basketball system suited for every level of competition, from elite international play sanctioned by FIBA to intramural and recreational use. Each T-Rex model incorporates advanced extension-spring counterbalance technology, allowing the unit to be raised, lowered, and stored quickly, safely, and with minimal effort. Pivot points move smoothly on zero-maintenance, self-lubricating bearings with chrome-plated steel axles, while the ballast weight is concealed inside a covered containment compartment. Slim uprights minimize sightline obstruction for spectators and media positioned behind the base.

Floor-safe 8" × 2" casters—available in multiple configurations depending on the model—enable easy transport. In transport mode, all T-Rex portables can pass through any doorway measuring at least 84" high and 78" wide.

The Americana™ model delivers the performance and features expected by most Division I programs and complies with or exceeds NCAA and National Federation of High School rules. It includes an 8' safe-play zone and an Automatic Base Control (ABC) system that simplifies setup and movement: (A) roll the unit into position and raise the backboard, (B) secure the front locator pins into the floor, and (C) attach the rear safety hold-down. A manual base control option is also available for installations where walls, bleachers, or other obstructions are located behind the unit.

Americana systems come standard with a lifetime-warranty official glass backboard, direct beam-mounted Baseline™ 180° breakaway goal, DuraSkin® backboard padding, high-density vinyl-covered base and beam padding, a rear safety hold-down system, and a vibration-dampening device for enhanced rigidity. Steel base components are finished in bright white powder coating, with additional color options available at extra cost. Custom padding graphics can be added with option ABC50.

Bison’s T-Rex Americana is approved for FIBA Level 2 competition. If a FIBA Approved Equipment Certificate is required, option BAFIBA can be included at no additional charge. FIBA-approved wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted backstop systems are also available upon request.
