The Z Leverage Sled is built to teach game-realistic leverage skills and footwork by letting each pad move in three dimensions instead of tracking straight back and forth on rails. Every leverage arm travels side to side and up and down, so the pad reacts more like a real opponent than a sled locked into one plane of motion.

Each arm requires roughly 132 lbs. of force to leverage, and pads can also twist independently left or right, adding another layer of resistance beyond the arm's travel. The sled is modular, so coaches can expand or contract the number of stations, and the pontoons are smooth-ground on the bottom with no exposed bolts, so it moves cleanly across turf or grass. The Z2 pad has a built-in chest plate that gives players a handle to work against.

Why Leverage Matters

  • Traditional horizontal-push blocking asks players to run off the ball on a flat plane and roll their hips late, which limits how efficiently the hips can uncoil.
  • Modern "Force Deflection" technique closes space with a square base first, letting the hips drive an ascending line of force up and through the opponent.
  • The Z Leverage Sled is built to reinforce that square-base, hip-driven finish rather than a long horizontal drive.

  • Sizes: 1 through 7-man configurations
  • Pad spacing: 53 in. center-to-center
  • Leverage force: approx. 132 lbs. per arm
  • Pad: Z2, built-in chest plate
  • Finish: powder coated black
  • Colors: Black, Green, Red, Royal, Gold

  • Pads move in 3D (side to side and up and down), not locked to rails
  • Pads twist independently left or right for added resistance
  • Modular chassis expands or contracts to fit station needs
  • Smooth-ground pontoons for clean movement on turf or grass

Available in 1 through 7-man configurations with Z2 or E2 pad options. A matching Z1-pad configuration is also available as a separate listing.

Rae Crowther Co. warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. If a covered defect occurs, Rae Crowther Co.'s sole obligation is to repair or replace the defective part; a Return Authorization Number must be obtained before returning any product for a warranty claim. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, negligence, accident, improper assembly, ordinary wear and tear, vandalism, or unauthorized repairs and alterations.

How is this different from a sled on rails?
Each leverage arm moves in three dimensions - side to side and up and down - rather than tracking a single straight path, so the resistance feels closer to a live opponent.
How much force does it take to leverage a pad?
Roughly 132 lbs. of force per arm, plus the weight of the pad itself, so players have to drive with their hips rather than just push.
