No. both materials have similar chances of breaking but fail differently. tempered glass typically shatters, while acrylic usually cracks. in either case, a broken backboard must be replaced.

No. the hoop is constructed from aluminum, which contains no iron and therefore cannot rust. all hardware is stainless steel and designed to resist corrosion.
How long does it take to install the hoop?
Installation typically takes two adults about 45 minutes to one hour. the exact time may vary depending on the installers' experience level.
Can i install the hoop if concrete has already been poured?
Yes. you can install the hoop directly adjacent to the existing concrete surface, which is the easiest option. alternatively, you can break through the concrete using a jackhammer, though this method is generally discouraged.
How low does the hoop go?
The hoop lowers to 7 feet. lowering below this height would violate astm safety standards. seven feet provides a safe and fun playing height for younger children while maintaining safety.
