Built to Your Venue

Custom Scoreboards & Timing Systems

Every scoreboard is built to order with your school name and colours on it. Tell us the sport, the venue and how far the furthest seat is, and we will size the board and quote it with the captions you want. No minimum order, quote back within 24 hours.

STEP 1

Tell us about the venue

Sport, indoor or outdoor, and the distance from the board to the furthest seat. Plus the wording you want on it.

STEP 2

We size it and price it

We spec the board to your viewing distance and scoring needs, add your captions, and quote it with freight to your ZIP code.

STEP 3

Approve and we build it

Approve the quote, send a PO or pay by card, and the board is manufactured with your lettering on it.

Tell us about your scoreboard

Fill in whatever you know. Anything you are unsure of, pick “Not sure” and we will work it out with you.

Your specifications

Where to send the quote

No obligation. Freight and installation are always quoted separately and approved before you are charged.

How long it takes

Built to order

Scoreboards carry your school name and captions, so every one is manufactured to order. Expect around 30 days from the point you approve the quote, then freight on top.

Controls and mounting

The quote covers the board, the controller, and the mounting hardware or pole if you need one. Replacing an existing board is often cheaper because the pole, conduit or wiring can sometimes be reused — tell us and we will check.

Freight and installation

Both quoted separately from the board. Scoreboards mount high and need an electrical connection, so installation is generally a job for a crew rather than a maintenance team. Some manufacturers install directly; where they do not we connect you with an installer.

Size is set by how far away people sit

The single thing that decides which scoreboard you need is the distance from the board to the furthest seat. Everything else follows from that. Measure it and we will size the board so the numbers read clearly from the back row.

VenueWhat usually goes in
Auxiliary gym, practice court, small venueA compact board with the basic scoring a practice or JV game needs
Main gymnasiumA full board with period, fouls, bonus and timeouts, sized to read from the top of the bleachers
Baseball or softball fieldOutdoor board carrying innings, balls, strikes and outs, built for weather and longer sight lines
Football or soccer fieldThe largest boards, with the longest viewing distances and usually a pole or structure mount
Multi-sport facilityOne board configured to switch between the sports played in the space

Not sure of the distance? Pace it out roughly and tell us. Close enough is fine at this stage — we would rather size it generously than have you squinting at it.

What the board needs to show

Scoring layouts are built around the sport, so the first thing we ask is what gets played in the space.

  • Basketball — score, period, team fouls, bonus, timeouts, and a game clock. Shot clocks are usually separate units and can be quoted alongside.
  • Football and soccer — score, quarter or half, game clock, down and distance on football boards.
  • Baseball and softball — score by inning, balls, strikes, outs, and often a hit or error indicator.
  • Volleyball and wrestling — set or period scoring, match counts, and smaller formats than a court board.
  • Multi-sport — one board configured to switch between the sports your space hosts. Worth specifying up front rather than discovering later that it only does one.

Tell us every sport the venue hosts, not just the main one. It is far cheaper to buy one board that covers all of them than two boards that each cover half.

Captions, school name and sponsor panels

Scoreboards are built to order, which means the lettering on them is yours rather than generic.

Captions and school name. Home and visitor labels, your school or team name across the top, and your colours. This is the part that makes a board look like it belongs in your gym rather than like it came off a shelf.

Sponsor panels. Many schools add advertising panels above or below the scoring area and sell them to local businesses. For a lot of athletic departments the sponsorship pays for a meaningful share of the board itself. If that is something your booster club or district would use, tell us and we will quote it with the panel space built in.

Send us the wording you want. Vector artwork is ideal for logos, but we can work from whatever you have.

Mounting, power and control

  • Mounting. Wall-mounted inside a gym, pole-mounted on a field, or fixed to an existing structure such as a press box or fence line. If you need a new pole, that gets quoted with the board.
  • Power. Boards need an electrical supply at the mounting point. Outdoor installations frequently need new conduit run to the pole, which is site work rather than equipment. Tell us whether power is already there.
  • Control. Most boards run from a wireless handheld controller, which avoids running cable from the scorer's table to the board. Wired control is still available where a facility prefers it.
  • Replacing an existing board? Say so. Sometimes the existing pole, wiring or mounting hardware can be reused, which takes real money off the install.

Common questions

Can we put our school name on it?

Yes. Scoreboards are built to order, so the captions, the school or team name and the colours are specified before it is manufactured. Send us the wording on the form.

How long does it take?

Around 30 days from the point you approve the quote, because the board is manufactured with your lettering on it. We will give you the real date for your specific board before you commit.

Is there a minimum order?

No minimum. One board for an auxiliary gym is a quote we will write.

What size board do we need?

It comes down to the distance from the board to the furthest seat. Give us that measurement on the form, along with indoor or outdoor and the sport, and we will size it so the numbers read clearly from the back row.

Can one board handle more than one sport?

Yes. Multi-sport boards are configured to switch between the sports your venue hosts. List every sport played in the space on the form so we spec it correctly the first time.

Can we add sponsor advertising to it?

Yes, and plenty of schools do. Panel space above or below the scoring area can be sold to local businesses, and for many athletic departments that sponsorship covers a real share of the cost of the board. Tell us on the form and we will quote it with the panels included.

Do you handle installation?

Scoreboards mount high and need an electrical connection, so this is not a maintenance-team job in most cases. Some manufacturers install directly. Where they do not, we connect you with an installer who does this work. Installation is quoted separately from the board, the same as freight.

Do you accept school purchase orders?

Yes. Tell us on the form that you will be paying by PO and we will build the quote so your business office can process it. Scoreboards are often funded by a booster club or a sponsorship, and we can format the quote for that too.

Outfitting a whole venue rather than just the scoreboard? We will quote the seating, the equipment and the board together on one document.
