Bison 48" x 72" Tall Glass Competition Backboard

The integrated support framework absorbs more than 98% of the force generated by rim contact, preventing stress transfer to the glass panel. Because the rim is mounted independently from the glass, even excessive hanging or aggressive play will not compromise the backboard. This design significantly reduces the likelihood of injury and eliminates concerns about glass breakage. All Bison competition glass backboards are factory pre-drilled to allow quick installation of original DuraSkin backboard padding.

A traditional 48" x 72" configuration with upgraded performance, this model is widely used in gymnasiums throughout the United States and complies with all applicable competition standards. It features a 42" x 62" structural mounting pattern and a 5" x 5" goal mounting pattern, allowing it to serve as a direct replacement for most manufacturers’ original tall glass backboards.

Caution: Research indicates that 42" x 72" glass backboards lower the risk of player injury resulting from backboard contact. For new installations or conversions from fan-shaped to rectangular backboards, models BA42XL and BA42XLC are recommended. The 48" x 72" backboard is offered exclusively for replacement applications.
