Bison T-REX Americana Automatic Portable Basketball System - Glass Backboard, 8′ Safe Play Area, Indoor

Bison now produces a T-Rex portable basketball system suited for every level of competition, from elite FIBA-sanctioned international play to intramural and recreational use. Each T-Rex unit incorporates industry-leading extension-spring counterbalance technology that allows for quick, safe, and effortless height adjustment and storage. Pivot points move smoothly on zero-maintenance, self-lubricating bearings with chrome-plated steel axles. The ballast weight is concealed inside a covered containment compartment, and the narrow upright design minimizes visual obstruction for spectators and media positioned behind the base. Floor-friendly 8" x 2" casters—configured according to the selected T-Rex model—make transport simple and secure. In transport mode, all T-Rex systems can pass through doorways measuring at least 84" high and 78" wide.

The Americana™ model includes the features most Division I programs expect and complies with or exceeds NCAA and National Federation of High Schools standards. It provides an 8' safe play area and incorporates the Automatic Base Control System for straightforward setup and relocation: “A” roll the unit to its designated court position and raise the backboard, “B” confirm the front locator pins are secured into the floor, and “C” attach the rear safety hold-down. A manual base control option is available when walls, bleachers, or other rear obstructions are present.

Americana units come standard with a lifetime-warranty glass backboard, direct-beam-mounted Baseline™ 180° breakaway rim, DuraSkin® backboard padding, high-density vinyl-covered base and beam padding, a rear safety hold-down assembly, and a vibration-dampening mechanism to enhance structural stability. Steel base components are finished in bright white powder coating by default, with additional color options available for an added charge.

Bison’s T-Rex Americana is approved for FIBA Level 2 competition. If your backstop requires a FIBA Equipment Certificate of Approval, the optional BAFIBA designation can be added to the order at no extra cost.
